Lauren and Ryan met in high school geometry class at the age of 16. Nearly a decade of dating later, they said “I do” at the Legare Waring House in Charleston under a canopy of moss draped oaks. They also happen to be my brother and his girl friend’s besties! Sorry - no referral fee guys!
Lauren is actually a graphic designer! This was a unique situation where she wanted to design her invites, but not everything else. Together we collaborated to develop her invitation look and I helped coordinate printing. I loved working with these two to then create their sweet day-of details, including a watercolor of their adorable puppers, Sully! I hadn’t whipped out my paints in a while so this was so fun for me. Lauren and Ryan were obviously the stars of the day, but Sully was a close third as the flower girl. She even had the signature cocktail named after her - such a star!
For each of her bridesmaids, Lauren gifted them personalized hand-painted hangers (by me!) to hang their pretty dresses. I also got to create my first wooden welcome sign with GOLD paint! We also worked together to design the programs, a cards and gift sign and perfectly color coordinated koozies.
When I got all their photos back, I seriously was freaking out and laughing at pictures of my brother dancing. Her bouquet and all the florals were ah-mazing! The succulents tied so perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dress color. Not to mention her dress and veil were stunning! Ryan also showed some flare with his peacock bow tie. Also, the cake with the Clemson Tiger and Hokie bird was SO cute! Okay, I’ll calm down…
All the details added up to a beautiful wedding celebrating such a fun couple at one of my new favorite venues (um, those trees!). Congratulation you guys! So so happy for you both!
